This is the third book written by Rachel Coverdale that we’ve had the pleasure of reviewing. The story book is called Robberty Bobberty and Friends and is beautifully illustrated by Shelly Oyston. We were gifted a copy of the book in return for writing a review. You can find out about all of Rachel’s work on her website.
The book is aimed at 4-8 year old children and tells the story of Robberty Bobberty rabbit. His mum wants him out from under her feet and tells him to go and learn something new. But, like many children (and adults!) he’s in too much of a rush to appreciate the world around him and dashes here and there to find something new.
His friends try to tell him to slow down but he doesn’t listen. He ends up going too fast and hurting himself. That’s when his friends help him out. They show him how to slow down and soak up the wonders of the world around him.
Robberty Bobberty is a lovely rhyming story. Eldest who’s six loved reading it with me. She enjoyed the story and guessing what rhyming words would come next. She also loved the pictures and took her time to look at each one, exploring all the detail.
Hopefully it will help her remember to slow down a bit too. She’s always on the go which sometimes means she misses out on the simple things going on around her. I think there’s a lesson in there for adults too!
You can buy Robberty Bobberty and Friends from a variety of places, including Amazon.
